Now on to a topic that pushes buttons with a lot of people the idea of bilingual education and standardization.
While there is much to be said on the topic i hate the idea of standardization and would prefer a more individual critical thinking type of examination but that is almost impossible to put into numbers which is what makes the money and is what "the man" wants to see. The purpose of bilingual education is one of the selling points in my opinion of American education. With such a diverse cultural how could you not want a child to be schooled in the differences and similarities of these cultures. It would make for a less ignorant and more understanding attitude in America and its socital circles. I can not wait for the day when this conversation will no longer be an issue and it is finally realized that this is an assest to a country not a burden.
So for my passion or preaching but it is just how i feel about the subject. ROCK ON LUKE

I agree. I feel that our country does need to have bilingual ed. We were founded by people of all different languages and it is the reason that this country is the way it is. The idea of restricting students to one language is proposterous. How could one country be so ignorant, especially since english is not even the language origianlly on the continent. The native americans were here and they didnt speak english, so to deny other languages in america is hypocritical
in my own home town it is evident that we need bilingual education. as i look around campus even, so many different cultures in one place. i can only imagine whats out there. i know there are many small microcosims out there and groups tend to stay together but still we are mixing more and more each day. i think we dont need to push just bilingual, we need to teach language, culture, and history
